  • Every which way you turn another gorgeous Vista! Deer came into our campground at night to visit us. There are amazing hikes everywhere. This gem of a national park is one of our favorites. The only thing that would make it better would be more group fire shacks...there were not enough to go around for all the campers in the town site campground.

  • A beautiful gem of a park hidden away on the border of US and Canada. The park is the northern extension of the US Glacier National Park. The scenery is spectacular around the town site and around Waterton Lake. The town site has limited hotel accommodations, yet it is more fun to stay in the lake side campground. It is a popular location in the summer so if you want to camp reserve your spot early. The town has several places to eat and numerous stores to sell you souvenirs. Make sure to give yourself enough time to visit the Prince of Wales Hotel on the hill overlooking town, take the boat tour down the lake, climb Bears Hump, visit Cameron Falls, drive up to Cameron Lake, and hike up Red Rock Canyon. There are many fun hikes throughout the park, and some remote campsites to stay at too. The weather in the park always tends to be a little cooler and breezy (even in the heat of summer), and it seems to get more than it's fair share of rain at times. Well worth the time it take to get there!

  • Waterton is a wonderful national park still relatively untouched by a lot of hustle and bustle. It's the kind of town that you can walk down the middle of the street of while eating your ice cream as you walk down to the beach. It's very quaint and cute, the people are friendly and there are a lot of hiking trails in varying degrees of difficulty. You will see lots of deer, elk and moose. This is also bear country so be careful while on your hike. We saw 8 bears in the day and a half that we were there!
